Clear Skin is able to provide the services of our director, Dr Chris Edwards who is a Consultant Medical Physicist employed by Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust in Newport, South Wales. He runs the phototherapy service in Newport which has a national reputation for excellence. His PhD was awarded by the University of Manchester in bioengineering aspects of non-invasive measurement of skin. Dr Edwards has a special interest in the use of ultra-violet and visible light for the treatment of skin disease.
His research interests are focused on improving phototherapies for skin diseases to make them safer and more effective.
Dr Edwards has won awards for his research from the British Association of Dermatologists and the European Academy of Dermatovenereology and he is a non-ionising radiation expert member of the Radiation Protection Standing Specialist Advisory Group to the Welsh Assembly Government based in Cardiff.
